The VIOFO A229 Pro 3-Channel is powered by dual Sony STARVIS 2.0 image sensors. Through the 8MP IMX678 for its front, and 5MP IMX675 for the rear camera, the A229 Pro provides you with footage superior in clarity and colour. Beyond that, it also comes with an IR camera that records Full HD, clearly capturing the entire cabin scene without overexposure, highly recommended for Uber, Lyft, taxis, and fleets.

Equipped with multi-exposure HDR for all front, rear and interior, the VIOFO A229 Pro 3-Channel records 4K UHD @ 30 fps at 140º field of view ahead, 2K QHD @ 30 fps for its rear at 160º, and Full HD 1080P @ 30 fps for its interior at 150º for wide coverage. Compatible with a VIOFO CPL filter and BlackboxMyCar Aqua Shield for sharper and clearer visibility.

Apart from Sony STARVIS 2, the VIOFO A229 Pro 3-Channel  is also equipped with Super Night Vision 2.0, promoting the highest sensitivity and lowest noise technology, especially in dark environments. This means that when impact is detected, the dash cam will switch to standard event recording, including the 15 seconds before and 30 seconds after the collision. Moreover, VIOFO’s parking mode options also include:  

• Auto Event Detection automatically starts recording when movement or impacts are detected.

• Time Lapse records video continuously at low frames rates to reduce recording size.

• Low Bitrate Mode continues recording audio and video normally in parking mode, except for using a high compression ratio which allows extended recording times, for example, overnight recording without overwriting the recordings from the previous day.
